Our Philosophy
Ayana Yoga
Ayana is a Sanskrit word meaning motion, walking on a path, way home or shelter. Our motto at Ayana Yoga is to enjoy the journey, rather than constantly holding out for the next best thing or the "destination". We want to help you create a lifestyle where you enjoy every moment.
"YogayΔna" or Ayana Yoga translates to yoga shelter, yoga home, yoga path or yoga shala. We want to support and guide you on your journey by trying to create a safe space and community that can be by your side the whole way.
Our butterfly symbolises new beginnings, transformation and growth. It's never too late to change a habit and you are never too old to stop learning.
Where it all began
Our Founder
Hello and welcome! My name's Lauren and I'm the founder of Ayana Yoga. Here is a little summary about me and my journey.
After leaving school I spent five years working in the Real Estate Industry, within the residential and commercial sectors. At stages of my career, I had to work long hours to keep up with the workload, this took a toll on my mental and physical health.
During this time I found yoga, starting off with a beginners Hatha Yoga Course in a local church. I used this as a tool to find time in my day to pause, manage stress, regulate my nervous system and become more in tune with my body. Whilst also gaining physical strength, mobility and flexibility.
Since then, I have developed my practice with a variety of yoga styles including Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Meditation, Pranayama, Hatha, Hot and Ashtanga Yoga. Once I had completed my Yoga Teacher Training, I wanted to continue expanding my tool belt and learning more about different wellness practices. Completing further study in Yin & Restorative Yoga, Matwork & Reformer Pilates, Sound Healing and Reiki.
I can't wait to meet you and join you on your journey!
